The project “Digital House of Humor and Satire: Art from 170+ Countries over the Last Century” is an ambitious creative initiative that transforms the rich international fund of humorous and satirical art of the Museum “House of Humor and Satire”, including works from 173 countries, into an accessible digital ecosystem for international dialogue and exchange in the field of art, education and cooperation.
The museum preserves over 37,500 works of art and 30,000 library units – a unique heritage spanning almost a century of history (from 1928 to the present).
The “Caricature” fund alone contains 23,500 works – an unprecedented wealth that awaits its digital transformation.
The core of the project is the public platform eMuseumPlus, which builds on the professional MuseumPlus software implemented in the museum in 2024.
Through it, online access to 5,000 selected works will be provided in 2026.
The online catalog will be upgraded with 7 multimedia stories/memories from a thematic video cycle, two educational programs, a historical section and a competition for young curators.
The specialized library with publications in 35 languages will be integrated into the visual collections, becoming a research resource for scholars, students and museum specialists.
The project is not limited to technological digitization – its essence is in building communities and participation.
Museum specialists will undergo training in presenting digital resources; bearers of tradition and professional storytellers will enrich the interpretation of the collection; vulnerable groups and elderly people will have access to adapted formats; students and young people will participate in educational programs and a creative competition.
