On 04/04/2024 (Thursday) at 5:30 p.m. in the exhibition hall of the Museum of Humor and Satire in the city of Gabrovo, the new collection of poems by the poet Kaloyan Hristov Apology of Sensibility, published by Znatsi publishing house, will be presented. Moderator and leader of the poetry meeting will be Ivan Hr. Christ’s Vneto will participate in the performance of the musicians Tsvetomir Tsankov and Ognyan Tylyumbakov. Actors Victoria Vasileva and Pavel Kinchev will also take part.

Kaloyan Hristov completed his secondary education at the National April High School in Gabrovo. He also graduated with a degree in Bulgarian philology at the Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”, as well as a master’s degree at the Faculty of Pedagogy of Sofia University, Educational Management specialist. He is one of the creators and editors of the literary website Tetradkata.com, as well as the Tetradkata publishing house.
He is a teacher of Bulgarian language and literature in high school at the “Erich Kestner” Private German Language High School, Sofia. Leads an annual creative writing course for students. Literary studies of Kaloyan Hristov were published in the magazine Literature and others. His scientific works are: Geometry of spaces in Chavdar Mutafov’s decorative novel “The Dilettante”; The megdan and the cabinet as topos of the village and the city; A cultural biography of Vasil Aprilov and the Gabrovo school through the eyes of Petko Slaveykov and Svetoslav Milarov and others.
In 2018, his first book of poetry – Coincidences – was published. His poems have been published in Literaturen Vestnik, New Asocial Poetry, Literary World, Plamak, Alm. Zornitsa, LiterNet, the Poetry Against War anthology, etc. Participation in the international poetry plein air Sofia Metaphors in 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023. At the invitation of the musicians from the SoulBmoll group, he wrote the lyrics for the song New Direction, which became part of the group’s first album. In 2020, his second collection of poems appeared – Salt Molecules (Znatsi ed.).
He is the winner of: First prize for poetry in the Nikola Vaptsarov National Competition (2019), the Grand Prize for Poetry in the More National Literary Competition (2020), the April Book of the Year Award in the Young Author category (2021), twice a finalist in international Milli Dueli poetry contest (2019, 2021), nomination in the extended list for the Perot National Literary Award (2021), honorary diploma from the Vladimir Bashev National Literary Contest (2021).
His poems have been translated into English, Arabic, Serbian and Spanish.
